"I'm just bein' honest ..."

OK, that's the last reference I'll make to the ever-popular "Hey Ya" song. Sadly, it's getting old to me.

----------

Dayummmm, I was gone a long time! And nobody even missed me. Oh well.Let's see ... when we last visited, the Clemson - USC game was about to be played. Happy ...no, THRILLED!... to report that Clemson ate gamecock for dinner that Saturday night. Clemson - 63USC - 17Oh yeah. That's SIXTY three points. I'm figgering it was a disgruntled gamecock fan that STOLE my tiger paw mailbox flag after the game. Grrr. Anyway, Clemson is headed to the Peach Bowl in Atlanta on January 2nd. And I think that's GREAT!

----------

Hope you all had a lovely Thanksgiving. Ours was ... small. We had good food, and we all took a nap in the afternoon though. (Well, everybody except my Mom.)We were among the insane who went shopping on the day after. Wasn't too bad. I got my last paycheck from the closeout place. And spent half of it in there. Heh.

----------

Speaking of jobs, I'm "working" again. I got a call today from C0mf0rt K33pers ... they offered me a client who wants someone to drive her to do errands and out to lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I'll start tomorrow, so hopefully things will go well.

----------

Thanks to the kids, the tree is up already. Mother and I have decided to wait until the weekend to finish the house decorations. We shopped today, and combined with what I did online yesterday, I'm well on my way to being finished. Of course, Amazon's delivery may screw up everything. I figure we have the next 2 weeks to shop, then Emilie will be home and having her wisdom teeth removed. (Awww!) That 3rd week of December, we'll stay close to home and get the baking and candy-making done. Ta-dah! Sounds like a plan.

----------

Well, that's all I've got, considering I'm so far behind in updating here ... I'll be back soon, I promise.

Hey, just wanted to update you on a few things....
I went to the Safe Harbor training last night and it was quite interesting. I think I want to do Crisis Line, and there's more training that goes along with that, and since they don't get a lot of crisis calls at the Anderson location, I'm gonna go to the Greenville location on Dec. 16 at 9:30 in the morning and train then. I also have an appointment with Dr. Cromer on Dec. 16 at 5:30. But anyway, yeah, the Safe Harbor thing was interesting. We had to meet somewhere else and then follow the lady to the actual place. It just looks like a normal house with a gate surrounding it. Theres four cameras around the place, and to get in, you have to go to the back door and ring a door bell. There's a camera on you right there and you still have to tell the person who you are and why you're there if you're not well known yet. Then they push a button inside to open the door. There's a small office area, and then you go into another part of the building and there's a kitchen, a living room, 2 big bedrooms, and 2 big bathrooms, with multiple beds in each bedroom. There were women with their kids just hanging out everywhere. It was kinda sad and kinda interesting. It was small becauase it was the Anderson one and it's just getting started out....she said the Greenville location is much bigger. The Anderson location can only house 17 people at a time. It was just realy interesting....the whole experience. I think I'll enjoy doing the crisis line because I'll actually get to talk to women that are in trouble and feel scared and I think that's what I'm good at. They give you a list of questions to ask and they said that mostly you just listen.
But anyway....I thought of something else I want for Christmas....cute socks. Not little short socks like I have now, like normal socks and that have cute things on them and in lots of colors. I saw lots of cute socks at Pacific Sunwear.
I opened Kate's present to me tonight because I peeked in the bag that was sitting on the floor in the living room and then I felt guilty so I told her so she let me open it. She gave me this makeup/bath stuff travel type bag that has cherries shaped like hearts and the words naughty and nice all over it, a sparkly orange citrusy smelling candle, a journal with a cat on the cover, a funny stuffed animal looking blue swordfish type thing that you're supposed to use in the shower like a sponge, and some pens. So now I feel like I need to get her more! I ordered those slippers and hopefully they'll be here soon. I also ordered Jud some stuff from something like HappyBuddha.com or something and hopefully that will get here soon too.
Aaaaaaanyway, I think it's sleeting outside now, so I'm gonna snuggle up and light some candles. I love you very much and I hope everything is going great! Tell Grandma that I love her too!
Love, Emilie :)

Hi :-)

I love getting updates like this from you!

Sounds like the Safe Harbor thing will be so rewarding for you. You'll have a busy first few days of Christmas Break!

Socks, huh. I'll pass the word along to anyone who asks, but I think I'm getting very near to the end of my shopping!

That Kate is a gift-givin' fool. How nice!

Keep warm, and stay safe. And eat some protein. :-)

Love you!
